10 Secrets to a Happy, and Safe Pregnancy in Less Than 10 minutes

Secret # 1.Get prenatal counseling

Prenatal counseling is one of the best things you can do mama to ensure a safer pregnancy. This Prenatal care actually gives you a heads up of your present health condition.

Provides valuable information that might warrant you to change before getting pregnant.

Makes your pregnancy more qualatative and safer to enter

Puts your mind at ease know that you are putting your little star in the best care possible.

Secret # 2. Find the right midwife or OBGYN to manage your pregnancy

Putting yourself in the right hands is power to your pregnancy ‘s health and safety.

  •  Find someone with a good reputation.
  • One whom you feel safe with when you

When you're having a child, you have a lot of choices to make. One of the first is to choose the type of health care professional you want to care for you during your pregnancy and after your kid is born. You can select from the following options:

  1. Obstetrician
  2. Doctor of family medicine
  3. Nurse-midwifery certification

Below is a description of each of these service providers. Each has a unique background, set of abilities, and perspective on pregnancy and labor. Your decision will be based on your health and the type of birth you desire. Depending on your local resources, the options accessible to you may differ.

When deciding on the type of service you want, there are a few things to think about:

You may have risk factors for complications during pregnancy and labor.

Where would you like to go?

Secret # 3 Drink plenty of fluids

This is very important because you need fluids as well as your little star. Remember your baby is living in water inside you. Never allow yourself to become thirsty. Staying hydrated keeps you feeling well and give your baby what he needs to develop properly.

iTip # 4. Exercise regularly and don’t excess about it

If you want to exercise while you're pregnant, talk to your doctor. Exercising while pregnant is generally safe and beneficial to both you and your baby. If you are physically able to exercise I highly recommend it because of the wonderful benefits:

BENEFITS:

  • Assist in lowering your chances of having a cesarean birth (also called c-section). Cesarean birth is a surgical procedure in which your baby is delivered through a cut in your belly and uterus made by your obstetrician.
  • Get your body ready for labor and delivery. Prayer and trusting in God can help you with gaining confidence that your pregnancy will go well. Positive affirmations and practice breathing, as well as other relaxing techniques to help you handle labor pain.
  • Additionally, exercise might provide you the energy and power you need to get through labor.
  • Assist you in bettering your stress management and sleeping habits. Anxiety, tension, or pressure are feelings you have in response to events in your life.
  • Reduce your chances of developing pregnancy issues like gestational diabetes and preeclampsia. Diabetes that develops during pregnancy is known as gestational diabetes. It occurs when your blood has an excessive amount of sugar (glucose).
  • Preeclampsia is a type of high blood pressure that affects some women after the 20th week of pregnancy or shortly after delivery. These disorders can raise your chances of having pregnancy difficulties, such as early birth (birth before 37 weeks of pregnancy).

Tip # 5.Write a birth plan with precision

During your pregnancy, you've certainly spent a lot of time wondering about all things baby: names, car seat brands, if you want to nurse, and whether you want to stay at home or go back to work. However, if you haven't already done so, it's a good idea to reflect on your labor and delivery experience. It's the ideal time to make a birth plan. Before you know it, the big day will arrive!

A birth plan is exactly what it sounds like: a written document that outlines your wants and goals for labor and delivery before, during, and after the event. Parents-to-be can share their ideal birthing scenario, or how they'd like labor and delivery to go if all goes according to "plan."

A birth plan considers what's practical, realistic, and what your practitioner, hospital, or birthing center has available or will accommodate, in addition to your preferences (not everything on your birth plan may fly with them). Some doctors advise pregnant parents to write up a birth plan on a regular basis, while others are pleased to do so if asked.

Tip # 4.Educate yourself about everything you do not know

I am often surprised by some of my clients who do not ask enough questions. Instead they prefer to ask the nurse. It is important that you and your practitioner have a good rapport. You must feel comfortable with them and be free to ask any questions.

Get serious about your pregnancy and ask the right questions.Prenatal appointments are also an opportunity for you to express your worries, ask pregnant questions, and learn more about your pregnancy. Consider these meetings as one-on-one consultations with yourself. If you have fears about birth, take a CHILDBIRTH /PRENATAL CLASS HERE.

Throughout your pregnancy, you'll have a lot of questions, especially concerning your own specific needs. However, I've learnt that some inquiries must be asked, because the clock is ticking.

Tip # 5. Avoid harsh or toxic cleaners, heavy lifting).

Mamas, isn't it good that the majority of cleaning products are safe to use during pregnancy? Even bleach, to be sure. So, unless you want to, you don't have to hire a maid to clean your house. However, there are some ingredients you have to check for on labels and avoid. These can be very dangerous to you and your baby and heavy lifting.

Air fresheners should be avoided. Prenatal exposure to air fresheners, such spray cleansers, was linked to an increased risk of asthma and respiratory issues.

Another issue with air fresheners is that they almost always list "fragrance" as an ingredient on the label. This indicates they could contain parabens, which you should avoid if you're expecting.

Open your windows and "air out" your house as much as possible to prevent undesirable odors from forming in the first place. If your oven has one, use it when cooking. Remove the garbage on a regular basis and maintain your home immaculate. By all means avoid heavy lifting especially during the first trimester when everything is so delicate e.g. miscarriages, spotting.

Tip # 6.Track your weight gain (normal weight gain is 25-35 pounds).

Overweight or underweight can cause serious problems during your pregnancy. Because you are pregnant does not mean you must eat more except for a twin pregnancy. Consult with your care provider to find ways to keep your weight under control. Also note your weight’s progress when you go for your visits.

Tip # 7. Wear comfortable shoes

During pregnancy, some women's feet swell an entire shoe size, and the arches of their feet flatten out due to weak ligaments. The additional fluids that your body begins to create cause your feet and ankles to swell. I'm one of those women whose feet grew larger. It was during my last pregnancy.

Tip # 8. Eat the right food

  • Eat folate-rich foods (lentils, asparagus, oranges, fortified cereals)
  • Eat calcium-rich foods (dairy, canned fish, soy)
  • Eat more fish (except those high in mercury )
  • Eat foods with fiber
  • Don’t eat soft cheeses (unpasteurized styles like Brie and feta may contain bacteria that can cause fever, miscarriage or pregnancy complications)
  • Eat your veggies and keep a dairy food in your diet
  • Eat five or six well-balanced meals each day
  • But don’t overeat. You only need 300-500 additional calories per day.

Tip # 9. Limit caffeine

Is it safe for pregnant women to drink coffee? What about other caffeinated meals or beverages? When it comes to caffeine with pregnancy, authorities recommend that women consume no more than 200 milligrams per day, which is equivalent to around one cup of coffee.

However, it's a good idea to avoid caffeine as much as possible during pregnancy because even small amounts can harm your baby.

Caffeine may quickly accumulate in many foods and beverages, and different brands of coffee have vastly varying amounts, so follow our caffeine chart below to stay safe. I was not a coffee drinker during any of my four pregnancies.

Tip #10. Avoid alcohol

Don’t drink alcohol! You are pregnant. This includes not drinking alcohol, even while trying to conceive. There is no known safe level during pregnancy and alcohol can cause birth defects.1
