About Me
John is a Yorkshire-based researcher, writer and broadcaster and formerly programme manager at the historic Queens Mill in Castleford. John is passionate about combining heritage, culture and community in order to regenerate forgotten towns and cities. He is also the curator of the popular History and Heritage Yorkshire Twitter and Bluesky accounts and is editor in chief of History and Heritage Yorkshire Magazine. He is the author of three books including the popular "Beside the Seaside" and is a regular contributor to various magazines and journals writing on history, heritage, the arts, poverty and community.
