About this work

‘The Tapestry of Dreams’ was inspired by the fragments of dreams lingering on, and the purposeful act of sifting and sorting through the imagery and sounds as they shift into our unconscious as day draws near.

‘The Tapestry of Dreams’ was commissioned by Tom Kerstens for the International Guitar Foundation (IGF) for La Leona, guitar music by women composers, celebrating the famous La Leona guitar created by Antonio de Torres. The work explores the rich sonorities of the lower guitar strings, and places these fragments of low melodies against the light percussiveness of harmonics on the higher guitar strings.
