I grew up and spent my childhood in a small village with a river running through it. The river had many rapids and we were always told to be careful of the streams. I learned to fear the small whirls in the water and then as I grew older to respect them and see the absolute beauty of them. Many times have I sat by the river just staring at and admiring the powerful beauty and relaxing sound of wavelets.
This shawl was inspired by that feeling of sitting at the shore and staring into the depths. It’s empowering and it puts my mind to ease. Knitted with thick yarn and big needles, the shawl is rustic and bold and powerful. It is designed to keep you warm without losing any of the beauty.
