Landing the Catch - Sea

As with ‘Landing the Catch - Beach’, here’s another shot of fishermen at work on Budleigh beach. Here they’ve just landed the boat and are hauling it up the steep Budleigh pebbles from the sea. Hopeful seagulls boldly loiter near their feet, knowing they’ll be scraps and offcuts worth the wait.

Again I subdued much of the colour here, playing around with the colour opposites of orange and blue. I really liked the leading lines here of the small waves on the expansive sea, the three layers of stony beach, and the trail of driftwood strewn by a recent high tide.
