Budleigh Phone Booth

This phone booth resides on Marine Parade at the beachfront in Budleigh Salterton. I’ve never seen it used, but the locals are adamant it should stay and resist whenever BT want to shut it down. Given its nostalgic character, I can see why.

I took this shot in winter 2023 after a storm, pushing the ISO somewhat given the limited light. I managed to find a brief moment during nautical twilight where the ‘red sky at night’ promised better weather to come. The classic red phone box is clearly the focal point, but in the background are the blurred figures of people on the beach and the promenade, enjoying an evening stroll. The mist of the sea strokes the cliffs in the distance.
