I designed this shawl for Dee of Posh Yarn. She wanted it for a yarn-pattern kit. I got the thing all done. It was ready to go. Naturally, as is often the case, I had no name. Dee helped out by running a naming contest on her blog. I was thrilled with all of the responses we got. Tillia was one of those suggestions. The knitter who suggested it named it for the leaves and flowers of trees in the Tilia genus, commonly referred to as linden, lime (not to be confused with the citrus), and basswood.

Shawl is knit from the border up to the top edge. Decreases worked on all right-side rows shape the garment into a triangle as it is knit. To finish, 10 stitches are grafted together; no stitches are bound off. The nupps were added for texture, and the delight in making them. They can be omitted or replaced with beads (instructions included), if desired.
