CartMango was founded around 2018 by Welly Mulia, who previously operated the Zaxaa platform from 2011. The platform was started to help creators and small teams of up to 10 people to sell digital products, such as online courses, more easily. This checkout tool helps ensure there are no issues post-launch by serving as a testing tool that verifies checkout flows.

What is CartMango?

CartMango is a conversion-focused checkout tool that helps creators and coaches sell digital products, such as courses. The platform positions itself as a “no-hostage” cart platform, meaning that if you leave, your recurring subscriptions stay intact, so you can continue earning monthly or annual revenue from your subscribers.

How does CartMango work?

CartMango works by offering sellers a checkout and cart solution that helps them achieve higher conversion rates than on a traditional site. The tool isn’t a website builder. You’ll need to build landing pages using a third-party tool. CartMango is only used for checkout links.

The checkout tool includes features designed to help you increase your order value, such as upselling, abandoned cart recovery, discount codes, and trigger actions when someone cancels their subscription.

What you need to know about selling on CartMango

One thing to know about selling on CartMango is that you’ll still need your own website to build a storefront where you sell digital or physical products. Most website builders come with built-in checkout functionality that has been rigorously tested for conversion optimization. Most sellers don’t need a separate tool to offer upsells, as it’s often a native, built-in feature for ecommerce platforms.

Another thing to note is that while they do have a free plan, you can only sell three products on it, and it lacks most features. For instance, all of their main marketing features, such as order bumps, upsells, downsells, cart abandonment, affiliate system, learning management system, community, custom domain, and CartMango branding removal, are not included on the free plan. To remove CartMango branding, you need to pay the highest subscription fee of $29.99.

CartMango has over 3,000 integrations connected to Make.com. While more integrations add functionality, they also skyrocket your fees, as each tool or app you add will likely have its own subscription fee. Overall, adding more apps or tools will cost you more. Plus, most ecommerce platforms offer built-in tools to help you get the most out of your online store.

CartMango is also still in beta. The platform is currently developing new features and functionality. However, some features on their feature page haven’t been built yet. Their “coming soon” tag doesn’t indicate whether it’ll be in the next month or next year.

Is CartMango the best platform to sell products?

No, CartMango isn’t the best platform to sell products; Payhip is. Payhip is an affordable website builder that offers built-in tools, including a ready-to-go affiliate marketing system. Plus, you’ll be able to customize your storefront to create your own brand. You can also sell an extensive range of products, such as digital downloads, software, courses, coaching services, and physical products, each with its own functionality and unique features. To start selling products, sign up for free.
