1. Hit the "update preferences"
This link can also be labeled as "account preferences", "manage preferences", "notification preferences" or it is combined with the unsubscribe button. Some emails contain this link at the bottom.

Account Preferences allow you to choose what emails you want to be sent from the company or unsubscribe from certain types of emails.

You can use Ctrl+F (or Cmd+F on a Mac), and type "preference" in the UI box to find them in the email.

When you subscribe you might be signed up for a dozen types of emails from the same company. So when you unsubscribe, it can make you only unsubscribe from one type of email, but not from every type of email from the company. Clicking preference can help you unsubscribe from every type of email.
2. Create an alias
An alias is a fake email address that is attached to your main email account, which can protect your real address. You can create these in Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, and Yahoo Mail. You can then use this alias to sign up for accounts at online stores and for newsletters to prevent scammers from finding your real email address. You can also use these for your business. There are websites and videos that can tell you how to make an alias.

However, some software won't accept aliases.
3. Mark report as spam, and mute them
Do this if you already unsubscribed and they keep sending you emails.
4. Create Email Filters
Email filters can filter certain emails you don't want into folders that allow you to easily delete them.
I recommend creating filters with the words/phrases:
- % off
- bonus
- freebie
- coupon
- code
These will help you to find promotional emails that are promoting products. This will also help you find offers and freebies that you want or don't want.

5. Don't unsubscribe with email unsubscription services.
I recommend using these to find places I've subscribed to but don't unsubscribe directly through them.
"All of them tested failed to unsubscribe you from most of the mailing lists. Instead, the unsubscribe services set rules or filters that merely moved unwanted emails into new folders or the trash bin, taking up valuable cloud storage space." - Kaitlyn Wells
6. Use DEA (disposable email address) for sign-up instead
A disposable email address is a temporary email address that can be deleted after some time. You would enter the disposable email address to get the freebies you want. Using these instead of your email address also can keep your real email safe from spammers.
Also some important emails and emails that contain freebies won't always enter a DEA email inbox.
7. Manual cleaning
Enter these characters and phrases into a search bar, and delete all the emails with this text. Don't delete all your email because some are important or might be offers you want.
