NEW GRADUATE SERIES
The Dr. Dad's Chiropractic Clinical Education New Graduate Series is a practical transition-to-practice library created for chiropractic graduates who have completed their formal education but are discovering that knowing the material and managing real patients are two very different things.
This series is designed for final-year chiropractic students, interns, newly graduated chiropractors, and early-career practitioners who want a more structured approach to clinical decision-making, patient management, professional development, and independent practice.
Chiropractic education teaches anatomy, diagnosis, examination, technique, and management. But once you enter practice, the questions become much more immediate:
What should I focus on first? What does this finding actually mean? Should I treat today? Do I need more information? When should I reassess? When should I refer? How do I manage my time, documentation, and clinical decisions while still giving the patient appropriate care?
The New Graduate Series was developed to help bridge this gap.
Rather than simply providing more facts to memorize, these collections focus on applying what you already know to the realities of everyday clinical practice.
The Complete New Graduate Series contains five progressive NG collections, each addressing a different stage of the transition from student to independent practitioner.
The series begins with the first independent patient encounter and develops through clinical reasoning, examination, abnormal findings, treatment and referral decisions, management planning, follow-up care, workflow, documentation, time management, and the challenges of establishing yourself as an independent clinician.
Throughout the series, you will work on developing the ability to:
- Move from patient history to focused clinical reasoning;
- Build efficient, presentation-driven examinations;
- Interpret abnormal and unexpected findings;
- Develop meaningful working diagnoses and differentials;
- Decide when to treat, investigate, reassess, co-manage, or refer;
- Create and modify patient management plans;
- Determine whether a patient is actually improving;
- Manage patients who do not follow textbook patterns;
- Develop repeatable clinical workflows;
- Improve time management without unnecessarily rushing patient care;
- Strengthen documentation so that it reflects your clinical reasoning;
- Recognize professional limitations and know when additional help is appropriate;
- Develop the judgment and consistency required for independent practice.
The New Graduate Series is not intended to repeat chiropractic school.
It is designed to help answer the question many graduates eventually face:
“I learned all of this—but how do I actually put it together when the patient is sitting in front of me?”
The emphasis throughout the series is on clinical application, reasoning, patient safety, professional judgment, and the progressive development of confidence through experience and repetition.
