Good old fashioned sample browser plugin
As a hip-hop producer and beatmaker for over 20 years, I’ve spent countless hours searching through my sample library just to find the right drum kit combination.
It’s always been one of the most time-consuming parts of making beats.
That’s why I built SAMPimist — a plugin designed to find the right sounds instantly, no matter how messy your folders are.
Simply import a folder containing your samples, and SAMPimist will automatically scan every audio file inside — regardless of how deep your folder structure goes — and intelligently tag them behind the scenes.
In our real-world test on an M1 Max Mac, SAMPimist scanned and tagged over 170,000 WAV files (1.25 TB) in about 5 minutes during the initial import.
The scanning process happens only once when you import your samples — after that, all samples are already indexed and ready to load instantly every time you open the plugin.
Pad-based Tagging System
While most DAW browsers apply tags globally, SAMPimist gives each of its 128 pads an independent tag memory.
For example, you can tag C1 as Kick, C#1 as Snare, and D1 as Closed Hat. When you press Random, each pad selects a new sample from its assigned tag group.
This allows you to keep the structure of your drum kit consistent while exploring new sound variations efficiently.
Once configured in your DAW template, SAMPimist lets you start working immediately without manually browsing through folders.
Export to Audio Files
When you’ve built a kit you like, click Export to Audio Files.
All samples loaded across the pads become instantly drag-and-droppable into your DAW — whether onto an audio track or into a sampler like Drum Rack, etc.
Design Philosophy
The goal of SAMPimist is not to be another complex sampler with endless parameters —
it’s designed to help you find the perfect one-shot combination as fast as possible, and start making music immediately.
Future Goals
In future updates, I plan to implement a sample slicing system — designed in my own unique way, with a workflow that stays true to the simplicity and speed that define SAMPimist.

⚠️ Important : macOS 14 or Later Required
This plugin was developed and tested on macOS 14.
It may work on slightly older versions, but does not work properly on much older ones, such as macOS 10.15.
Therefore, Please purchase only if you're using macOS 14 or later.
