Walk in NYC # 16, the quiet Bay Ridge
This self-guided tour goes to southwest Brooklyn along the Upper Bay coast.
It is the opportunity to take a ferry for 40 minutes to have unique views of lower Manhattan, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty, Governors Island, the Red Hook district and the New Jersey shoreline in the distance.
Once there, you will find charming residential streets and restaurants much cheaper than in Manhattan.
In fact, you could plan your walk to eat at Bay Ridge and return by ferry for views of the city at sunset or at night, but you’ll also have the option to come back with the metro.
NB: if you have not already done so on another site, you can read the philosophy and general content of this itinerary by opening the “About the walks” link above or below.
