What Is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a psychotherapy approach designed to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. Developed by Francine Shapiro in the late 1980s, EMDR therapy is based on the premise that psychological distress is often due to unprocessed memories of traumatic or disturbing events.
