NIST CSF 2.0 Implementation Toolkit
NIST CSF 2.0 is the common language boards, examiners and insurers now use to ask about cybersecurity. Version 2.0 added GOVERN, and most organizations discover their largest gaps there.
A single maturity score hides the most common failure in a security program: the policy says one thing, the organization does another, and nobody can prove either. This toolkit scores policy, practice and evidence separately, and caps the result at one level above the weakest pillar, which is the score an auditor would give.
Gaps become initiatives on a roadmap with owners, dates and overdue flags. The evidence register tracks every artifact against its subcategory, with review cycles and a freshness status, so proof is current before anyone asks. The crosswalk maps every item to the related items in the other two frameworks so evidence is collected once and reused.
What is included
1. NIST-CSF-2-Program-Workbook.xlsx: profile, three-pillar assessment, summary, roadmap, evidence register, crosswalk and reference.
2. NIST-CSF-2-Implementation-Guide.pdf: the method, every tab and every flag.
3. NIST-CSF-2-Framework-Reference.pdf: every subcategory with all 363 NIST Implementation Examples.
4. Four program documents, including CSF Organizational Profile, CSF Implementation Tier Assessment, Security Exception Request (Word).
5. Eight full policies (8 to 10 pages each): Information Security, Acceptable Use, Access Control, Asset Management, Data Classification and Handling, Vulnerability and Patch Management, Incident Response, and Backup and Business Continuity (Word).
6. Eight companion procedures (12 to 16 pages each) that put those policies into operation: step-by-step technical instructions, configuration tables with required values, placeholders for your tools and screenshots, verification checks, records, metrics and troubleshooting (Word).
Who it is for
Security managers, IT directors, vCISOs, compliance leads and executives at organizations of roughly 25 to 1,000 people who need to measure and report their cybersecurity program against NIST CSF 2.0, whether for a board, an examiner, an insurer or customers.
Formats
Excel workbook, 2 PDF guides, 8 policies, 8 procedures.
