“Crib y Ddysgl”
The route to Snowdon from the notorious knife-edge route of Crib Goch joins this ridge, Crib y Ddysgl. It stands at 1,065m, just 20m shy of the Snowdon peak. Though not personally keen on such death-defying scrambles (someone had tragically died falling from here just a month before I visited), I was just about brave enough to point my camera at it! I was stood on the final stretch to Snowdon summit, having successfully scaled the Pyg Track.
The clouds loomed just over the peaks, making for an awesomely dramatic black and white photo. I added film grain to the image to accentuate the grittiness of this scramble and moodiness of the scene. I composed the setting with S-shaped symmetry between the ridge and the sky. Zooming in, you’ll notice four individuals trudging along the ridge.
For anyone who’s climbed the ‘Snowdon Horseshoe’ or explored this ridge, this image will be a fantastic memento. I recommend printing with a white or black frame for added impact in a room.
Just want a quality and hand-made framed print of this unique artwork, or maybe an impactful print on acrylic / canvas? Get it here, delivered to your door and ready to hang on your wall: Crib Y Ddysgl prints.
Tech Specs: Shot on Canon 6D @ 92mm, ISO 640, f/13, 1/160 sec. Enhanced in Lightroom. JPEG download only.
