“Planet Snowdon”
Snowdon (Welsh: Yr Wyddfa) is like a world of its own. From the summit, expansive views of the mountain range can be enjoyed, extending over dozens of miles on a clear day, over the Northwest Wales landscape, right out to the Irish Sea. Fields, forests, lakes, mountains, and ocean can all be observed, feeling like you’re on top of the world.
I’ve tried to encapsulate this worldly view into a neat ‘little planet’, taken from near the summit. The panoramic views feature prominently the lakes of Glaslyn and Llyn Llydaw, include Llanberis, and all the way out to distant peaks and the Irish Sea. The ‘whole world’ of blues and greens is encased nicely in the low cloud, which hovered just over the mountain peaks. In a way, it’s like a mini version of Earth itself.
