Majestic Mute Swans on Llyn Padarn

“Majestic Mute Swans on Llyn Padarn”
Just round the corner from The Lonely Tree, and having just been for a refreshing dip in the lake at Llanberis, I sat on some rocks to try and get a panoramic of Llyn Padarn and its mountainous backdrop. As I sat there, a bank of swans came drifting over to my location.
Seemingly inquisitive of what I was doing, they approached to within just a few metres of me. Not wishing to cause a scene or give the mother pen reason to be protective of her (rather large) cygnets, I stayed still and muted, shooting even in my camera’s silent mode!
After a couple of minutes of cleaning themselves and pecking the water, one of the bevy briefly splayed his wings in a show of grandeur, a perfect fitting for this majestic setting. I was quick and lucky enough to click the shutter just at that moment. Then like all moments do, this beautiful family of swans then casually sailed away.
