Llyn Padarn, in Llanberis, is such a beautiful place to visit at any time of the day. Here’s a setting over the lake as the sun rose over the mountains on the left. The light was tricky and the details get a little misty in the bushes, yet the rocks and ripples on the water are perfectly crisp.
I’ve kept the natural light as observed on this morning, with glorious deep blues of the sky reflecting on the lake, before the mist encroaches on the scene. In the distance and through the valley, you can just about make out the outline of the fantastic Dolbadarn Castle in the shadow.
The crisp slate on this crisp morning takes centre stage. Just around the corner from the commonly photographed setting of ‘The Lonely Tree’ (and where several photographers had set up camp for the morning), I felt this setting deserved a look in, given the bountiful composition options and incredible backdrop.
