The general Satellite maps are so you can see what river or creek you are up in the waters usually uncharted by the big names marine chart makers. Any sandbars seen may have shifted, so do not rely on the map for sandbars.

The hard to get Red Low tide maps are more recent & more current for sandbar location. Hopefully they have not changed too much during big wet seasons & we are always checking them for changes until we can update with suitable current imagery. Why "red"? because it contrasts the muddy water from the muddy sandbar.

Each map below has another set of snapshot images from a HDS Live Sounder showing what you are getting.

About Top End Maps

The Imagery is made by someone who never wants to be stuck again on a sandbar 8kms from the Mouth of the Roper River NT late afternoon into the night for 5 hours with nothing but high tide tracks on the chart plotter all heading over shallow water & sandbars. For those that have been in that lonely situation, or stuck on a boat with a packet of chips & with your inbred Cuz's , you'll know the importance of the Lowrance Chart Plotter maps we have here on this website. They are not designed for Humminbird or Garmin Fish finders.
