Feeling like you're not enough (It's not what you think)
You are not too much.
And you are not too little.
You are exactly enough.
Not because of what you've done.
Not because of your grades or your prayers or how well you fast.
But because of whose you are.
I know you don't always feel that way.
I know you look in the mirror and see someone who isn't pretty enough, isn't smart enough, isn't religious enough, isn't... enough.
I know.
But here's what I want you to know:
Allah doesn't make mistakes.
When He created you, your height, your voice, your laugh, your tears, your sensitivity, your dreams
He knew exactly what He was doing.
"He who created you and fashioned you and proportioned you." (82:7)
Proportion.
Balance.
Purpose.
You are not an accident.
You are not a mistake.
You are a deliberate, intentional creation of the Most Merciful.
I know what it feels like to not believe that.
To look at yourself and see only flaws.
To compare yourself to everyone else and come up short.
I know.
But what if the mirror is lying to you?
What if the voice in your head isn't telling the truth?
What if you are more than you think?
What if you are exactly who you're supposed to be right now, in progress, imperfect, and still worthy?
This is what Chapter 2 of "The Map Allah Gave Me" is about.
It's called "Reading the Legend."
It helps you decode the symbols of your own heart.
The patterns you don't understand.
The feelings you can't name.
The parts of yourself you've been avoiding.
Not to judge them.
Not to fix them.
Just to read them.
With mercy. With curiosity.
With the One who already knows.
🤲 A Prayer for the One Who Feels Not Enough:
Ya Allah,
I've been so hard on myself.
I've been believing lies about who I am.
Help me see myself the way You see me with mercy,
with truth, with love.
Remind me that I am Yours.
And that has always been enough.
Ameen.
