Self-worth, self-acceptance, for the one who's been told to shrink
You've been told you're too much.
Too emotional.
Too sensitive.
Too loud.
Too intense.
Too dramatic.
Too much.
So you've learned to shrink.
To make yourself smaller.
Quieter.
Easier to handle.
Less. Less. Less.
Let me write this on your heart:
You are not too much.
You've just been around people who couldn't hold you.
Your depth is not a flaw.
Your intensity is not a mistake.
Your feelings are not a burden.
Allah created you with a heart that feels deeply.
“And He placed between you affection and mercy.” (30:21)
That depth? It's a gift.
That intensity? It's a strength.
That feeling? It's a sign of life.
You don't need to shrink.
You don't need to apologise for existing.
You don't need to be less.
You need to find people who can hold you.
And until then, you need to hold yourself.
With the same tenderness you've always given others.
🤲 A Prayer for the One Who Feels Too Much:
Ya Allah,
I've been told I'm too much.
Help me believe I'm not.
You made me this way, with a heart that feels deeply, with emotions that run strong.
Help me see it as a gift, not a flaw.
Help me find people who can hold it.
And until then, help me hold it myself.
Ameen.
📖 You are not too much.
