PLACE TO TALK THERAPIES | Resource Library
Evidence-informed therapeutic resources for counsellors, psychotherapists, clinical supervisors, and the people they work with.
Created by Kay Parkinson, psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and founder of Place to Talk Therapies, these resources are designed to support trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, and shame-sensitive practice.
Whether you're looking for something practical to use in your next session, or exploring these themes in your own life, you'll find resources that encourage reflection, deepen understanding, and support meaningful conversations. Rather than prescribing answers, they are designed to create the safety needed for curiosity to emerge.
A different starting point
We often assume that change begins with a solution.
In this work, it rarely does.
More often, it begins with enough safety for curiosity to arrive.
That is the thread running through this library: helping people move from protection towards curiosity, rather than from problem to solution.
For practitioners
Therapist companions, session tools, and reference guides grounded in current research and written for the therapy room rather than the textbook.
For individuals
Reflective worksheets, journals, and guided resources to use in therapy or in your own time. There is no right way to complete them, no pressure to reach a particular answer, and no expectation that change happens on a particular page.
Not sure where to begin?
You can browse the collections to find resources relevant to what you are exploring, including:
Anxiety, Grief, Bereavement and Loss, Perinatal Resources, Faith, Spirituality and Meaning, and Conversation Starter Cards.
Or you might begin with what feels most present.
If you are finding it difficult to make sense of different thoughts, feelings, or inner responses, The Bus offers a gentle visual place to start.
If anxiety, overwhelm, or capacity feels particularly present, explore the Anxiety collection.
If you would like more space to notice patterns, experiences, and the ways you have learnt to respond over time, A Space to Notice offers a five-week reflective journal for going a little deeper.
You can also browse the Free Resources collection if you would like to explore the library before choosing a paid resource.
Start wherever feels right. There is no correct place to begin.
