No scrolling. No substitutions. No guesswork.
Why This Recipe Works
- Uses a fully cooked spiral ham (no stress about under cooking).
- Roasted vegetables cook at the same oven temperature.
- The glaze is 3 simple ingredients.
- Leftovers reheat beautifully.
This is Easter dinner without exhaustion.
Ingredients
For the Ham
- 1 fully cooked spiral ham (7–9 pounds)
- ½ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
For the Roasted Vegetables
- 1 ½ pounds baby gold potatoes, halved
- 1 pound carrots, peeled and cut into large chunks
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Do not substitute the ham type. Use fully cooked spiral sliced ham for correct timing.
Equipment
- Large roasting pan
- Aluminum foil
- Large sheet pan
- Small bowl
- Basting brush
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat to 325°F.
Step 2: Prepare the Ham
Place the ham cut-side down in a roasting pan.
Cover tightly with foil.
Bake for 12–15 minutes per pound.
For an 8-pound ham, bake approximately 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours.
You are reheating, not cooking from raw.
Step 3: Make the Honey Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together:
- Honey
- Dijon mustard
- Melted butter
Set aside.
Step 4: Roast the Vegetables
While the ham bakes:
- Toss potatoes and carrots with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Spread evenly on a sheet pan (do not overlap).
- Roast at 325°F for 45–55 minutes.
- Flip halfway through.
They are done when fork-tender with golden edges.
Step 5: Glaze the Ham
During the last 20 minutes of cooking:
- Remove foil.
- Brush generously with honey glaze.
- Return to oven uncovered.
The glaze should look glossy and lightly caramelized — not burnt.
Step 6: Rest Before Slicing
Remove ham from oven.
Let rest 15 minutes before serving.
This keeps it juicy.
What You’ll End Up With
- Sweet, glossy ham
- Caramelized carrots
- Crispy-edged potatoes
- A dinner that feels traditional without being overwhelming
